OUR TAKE

A developer-owned connection with a typed entry point

messages.dev documents a REST API, a TypeScript SDK and webhook processing patterns. It is a candidate when the team intends to build and maintain the application adapter.

A SDK is a building block

A TypeScript client can reduce low-level request work. The application still needs to decide which business record maps to the conversation and which incoming event owns each reply job.

Keep trusted identifiers in stored state rather than asking a model or a display-name search to choose the destination. Use the current SDK and API documentation together.

Own the event path

The documentation describes webhook signing and an outbox pattern. Implement those according to the current guide, then validate duplicate and interrupted processing with owned traffic.

The free test allowance does not establish production pricing or outbound initiation. Confirm the live account and contact-first behavior before exposing the connection to users.

The decision in one sentence

Choose this route only after the setup surface, data mapping and operating owner match your specific integration.
